We started diving into DIY projects together while living in our previous house in Rochester. We refinished floors, replaced drywall, put in a brand new kitchen, poured concrete – you name it, we tackled it! Once we accomplished the renovations at our old house, we knew we would be up for the challenge of doing it all over again for our “forever home”.
We loved our old house and our old neighborhood, but we always knew we wanted something a little bigger with more land. In true “Chad and Lynette” fashion, we even created a spreadsheet of priorities, ranked from low (would be nice) to high (gotta have it!). Some of the things we wanted were 4 bedrooms, 1+ acre with room to build a big garage, good school district, etc. We would constantly search real estate websites, and only once in a while did something come up that met our criteria and was in our price range.
Then we found it!
This house was originally listed for sale in March 2012. After being taken off of the market twice, and undergoing several price changes, it finally came onto our radar about a year later. After our first showing, we found out that it was a short sale. Thinking that it might be a long, hard process, but knowing that we really wanted the house, we put in an offer in July 2013. Saving the long story (i.e. emotional roller coaster) for blog post someday, we finally closed in April 2014.
And now the real fun begins! We are so happy to be starting our County Line journey and sharing it with you all!
