Inside, we’ve concentrated most of our efforts on the upstairs. Since we moved in, we’ve been living just on the first floor (and using the finished basement) while the second floor has been under construction (i.e. tearing out flooring, demolishing the bathroom, and rebuilding walls). We’ve now painted all three upstairs bedrooms, with the help of our friend and old neighbor Rob.
Before the painting started, there were a lot of places we had to mud – there was a plethora of nail holes, and also places where they had bolted their TVs to the wall. In addition, we needed to prime in the front bedroom over the purple, and in the back bedroom over a dark blue accent wall.
For the master bedroom, we chose a similar color as what was previously there – Shaker Beige.
You can see that we already have our new flooring for the entire upstairs. It’s staged in the master bedroom and ready to go!
For the front bedroom, we chose Kittery Point Green.
For the back bedroom, we chose Palladian Blue. This color really changes with the lighting. Sometimes it’s much more green than blue.
In addition, Chad installed light fixtures in all three bedroom ceilings. Previously, they just had switched outlets. So that required a trip up to the attic as well.
I’m excited about our bedroom celing fan, which has a remote, and we also got a digital wall switch.
Next step in each bedroom is installing the flooring. But before that, we will be rebuilding our staircase…
