There aren’t too many pictures to share of the actual move because it was such a busy day! But what we do want to say is how THANKFUL we are to all of our awesome friends and family who helped us move. Thank you. Seriously.
I had been packing for weeks. Well, months actually. But there just never seems to be enough time! And we certainly aren’t lacking in the “stuff” department.
People started arriving by 9am to help load up the truck. In the blink of an eye all the furniture and boxes were out the door! Seriously it took only about an hour or two. The hardest part was running around at the end trying to shove all that last minute junk into boxes.
One very full U-Haul later, we unloaded it all into the first floor, basement, and garage(s).
I once heard on the radio that after the age of 25, it was no longer proper etiquette to ask your friends to help you move by promising pizza and beer. Well, we definitely committed a social faux pas. Though I tried to kick it up a notch with Wegmans sub trays and nicer beer.
We had originally planned on making only one trip with the U-Haul on Saturday, then on Sunday making several trips to get the remainder of the garage stuff. Luckily, though, a few friends stuck around and convinced us just to make a second trip with the U-Haul and get it over with. What a lifesaver that turned out to be. Thanks guys! And thankfully it only started raining a little at the end of the day. We lucked out with the weather.
After some initial confusion, pacing, and crying, Patty adjusted VERY well to the new place.
Her new favorite hobby is sitting on the window sill watching the birds.
So there it is! We did it! We are officially Wayne County residents!
